Ethics, peer review, and publication standards

Peer Review Policy

MIMDCJ operates a rigorous double-blind peer review process for all submitted manuscripts. In double-blind review, both the authors and reviewers are anonymous to each other. All manuscripts are reviewed by a minimum of two independent expert reviewers. The editorial board makes the final publication decision based on reviewer recommendations, the scientific merit of the manuscript, and its fit with the aims and scope of the journal. The typical review timeline is 4–8 weeks from submission to initial decision.

Open Access Policy

MIMDCJ is a fully open-access journal. All published content is freely available online immediately upon publication at no cost to readers, institutions, or libraries. Authors retain copyright to their work under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. There are no article processing charges (APCs) — submission, review, and publication are completely free for all authors.

Plagiarism Policy

All manuscripts submitted to MIMDCJ are screened for plagiarism using iThenticate software. A similarity index greater than 19% (excluding the reference list) will result in automatic desk rejection. Authors are responsible for ensuring that their work is entirely original and that all quoted or paraphrased text from other sources is properly cited. Self-plagiarism is also unacceptable.

Conflict of Interest Policy

All authors, reviewers, and editors are required to disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that could be perceived as influencing the research, its interpretation, or the peer review process. Disclosed conflicts are considered by the editorial team in decision-making.

Authorship Policy

MIMDCJ follows ICMJE criteria for authorship. All listed authors must have made substantial contributions to: (1) conception/design or data acquisition/analysis; (2) drafting or critically revising the manuscript; (3) approving the final version; and (4) agreeing to be accountable for the work. Guest or gift authorship is not acceptable.

Data Availability Policy

Authors are encouraged to make the data supporting their findings publicly available. Where data cannot be shared openly, authors should include a data availability statement explaining why and how the data may be accessed.

Post-Publication Corrections

MIMDCJ issues corrections (Erratum or Corrigendum) for genuine errors that affect the scientific record. Retractions are issued when errors are so fundamental that they invalidate the article's findings. Authors who discover errors should contact the editorial office immediately.
